Pisake Lumbiganon

Professor Pisake Lumbiganon is a distinguished expert in obstetrics and gynaecology, with a career spanning several decades. He is currently affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Khon Kaen University in Thailand.

Dr. Lumbiganon's research interests and expertise include:

·       Maternal and newborn health

·       Epidemiology in obstetrics and gynecology

·       Clinical research methodologies

·       Quality of care in maternal health services

As a key figure in maternal health research, Prof. Lumbiganon has made significant contributions to global initiatives. He was involved in the World Health Organization multi-country Survey on Maternal and Newborn Health, which aimed to evaluate the quality of care and use of critical interventions in maternal and newborn health across multiple countries. Prof. Lumbiganon's work has been widely recognized in the academic community with over 22,000 citations to his name. He has published extensively on topics related to maternal and perinatal health, including studies on severe maternal outcomes and indirect causes of maternal morbidity.

His ongoing work continues to focus on addressing major gaps in maternal and newborn care, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, with the goal of reducing preventable maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity.
